Joanna D. Pratt

Sr. Vice President & Chief Investment Officer

Joanna joined NEIL as its Sr. Vice President and Chief Investments Officer in January 2026. 

Joanna oversees the Company’s Investments operations and more than 40 external managers that invest the Company $5+ billion portfolio, coming to NEIL with a significant background in investment portfolio management.  She was most recently the Deputy Chief Investment Officer and a Partner with Investure, where she oversaw all aspects of investment management for seven educational institutions and eight foundations, with $20 billion in managed assets.  Before her time at Investure, Joanna held multiple positions of escalating responsibility, including Managing Director for the Johns Hopkins University Office of Investments, Director of Investments at the Stanford Management Company, and Portfolio Manager for Fundamental Energy Commodities at Citadel Investment Group. 

Joanna earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Princeton University and a Master of Business Administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.  She is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.  Joanna resides in Rockville, Maryland.
